All the Way - An Answer to the Prayer of a 90-year old
69Once again, I depart from my usual hubs to give space to the second poem/prayer of my mother. It is supposedly the "answer" to her first poem/prayer.
According to her, the words came to her several days after she finished her poem/prayer that I shared last time. Trusting-A-Prayer-at-Ninety-Years-Old
It does look and sound like an answer. Maybe when you are 90 years old, God speaks to you in a special way.
All the Way
Come, child, come
Come to Me all the way
Let's sing together
As the night turns to day.
Here are the flowers
Yonder are the tears
Be guided by the light from above
Which shines for those who love.
Hold tight My hand
It will make firm your stand
Keep us close and warm
And forever out of harm.
All roses have thorns
Destroy their pricks as you sojourn
You'll be thanked heartily
For the safety of the way.
Do not think of tomorrow
Today has sufficient sorrow
Srengthen your faith anew
I will always be with you.
Come, child, come
Together we will reach the Father
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Come, with Me, Resurrection is forever!
- Maria S. Placer
My mom is always very spiritual. She has a strong faith in the Lord and prayer to her is as natural is breathing.
I hope you also enjoy this second contribution from her.

Love your nanay poems! And, love the pictures too!
Take care, my friend.
(She has the same age as my uncle, living in Ohio, USA; maybe some months older - born on the 11. of April!)
This has not only beauty but also wisdom. What a blessing to have such a mother in your life.
Beautiful! Yesterday afternoon we celebrated the 98th birthday of a precious lady in our community. She has cancer and may not see her 99th. She still has a spark and the twinkle in her eyes that have kept her young. Great hub and tribute.
That was a beutiful poem jill of alltrades. I have only just found you in here and i can't wait to read more of your work.
A gentle poem by a gentle soul about the gentlest of human emotions...loving, caring, trusting.
I am so glad that you share this second prayer.
Your mother's voice is strength and comfort to children. I think it is a voice that can only be spoken from the experience of age with the belief and wisdom only age can bring.
"Yonder are the tears..." But here are the flowers. Just the right message for a child who will learn the strength to survive the tears one day, but only by first understanding and delighting in the beauty of the flowers.
Your mother's voice is eternal.
Not only does your mother's grace and wisdom shine through in her words, her talent does, as well. She is a gifted woman with great insight. Thanks for sharing her work, it is outstanding.

Thank you Maria and Jill- I visited the grave of my father's Aunt Belinda last week. She was born in 1885 and passed twenty years ago at the age of 95. She continues to send me spiritual strength from the place she has found respite from the storm. Your words are a blessing shared. Cheers.
A warm happy birthday to your mom! She's lucky to have you as a caring, talented daughter, but I'm sure she already knows that. Namaste to you both.
A truly lovely poem. Thank you for sharing it with us. I enjoyed reading it very much.
How beautiful. The lines 'do not think of tomorrow; today has sufficient sorrow,' remind me of what St. Matthew said. Good lessons in this. Your mother is lovely. You are lucky to have your mother around for so long!

Again, poignantly beautiful. Nanay (we use that term too, a specific Chinese dialect) is a gifted poet. Her spiritual walk with God is evident. Love your pictures as usual.
