7 Big Reasons Why People Love Boracay
75Why do people go to Boracay (Philippines)? What makes them enjoy their stay there?
Boracay is a photographer's haven, so ever since I started my photography adventure, I have been going back there. Some will say, but it's the same old beach, the same old thing. Not for me though. I always find something new every time I am there.
Just like any photo enthusiast, I always take pictures of the scenery and especially watch out for the beautiful Boracay sunset. The last time I was there however, I focused more on the people and tried to discover what they do in Boracay. The pictures in this hub show what I discovered.
Boracay landmark
I felt like a paparazzi when I was taking pictures but I took care not to intrude on the people and only took photos with no recognizable faces. There is one exception though, the picture of the two girls playing. I actually made friends with these girls. They enjoyed posing for me and looking at their photos on my camera screen.
Boracay is One Big Park and Playground
To most people, Boracay is one big park and playground. What do you do in a park? Play, eat, ride, read, exercise, rest, sleep and just about anything, right? Well, that’s what people do in Boracay and more.
In a park, there usually is no swimming. If you want to swim you have to go somewhere else. But in Boracay, you can do all those things and enjoy a swim as well. Actually, I believe that people go to Boracay to swim but then they discover that they can do those other activities as well.
So here are the pictures. I just limited my observations to the activities of people on the beach.
vantage point
To get a vantage point of what is happening at the beach, I went up the grotto found on top of the Boracay landmark and took this picture.
When it's low tide, the beach extends far out to the sea as can be seen in this photo. People just walk, sit, play or do almost anything they feel like doing. I went to Boracay off season so the beach is not full.
During peak season however (November to July), this beach is simply filled with people from all walks of life. There still is space but chances are you will bump into somebody the moment you move a few feet. Not like in this photo wherein the "lovebirds" in the photo are practically left alone by most of the people around.
Big Reason 1 - Play and Swim
Big Reason 2 -Catch the Sun and Get a Tan
Big Reason 3 - Bond with Family and Friends
Big Reason 4 - Eat, Relax, Have a Tattoo
Big Reason 5 - Exercise and Ride
Big Reason 6 - Photography
Big Reason 7 - Sailing, Diving, Snorkeling and more Adventure
More Reasons Why People Love Boracay
I've got more photos to share but I think you get an idea of why people love Boracay. I have not even included here photos of people doing more adventurous activities at sea, like diving or snorkeling and other sea sports.
Plus of course there are parties along the beach every night.
I also have other hubs about Boracay. Check them out for more reasons why people love Boracay.

Jill,
as usual your pictures are moving. I really liked "I believe I can fly" What an amazing place. I see why it is so popular. Don't give up on me on the pics u sent to me - I am writing a lot on a prayer blog for a major event coming up and it takes a lot of my energy to keep up. Something will come to me sooner or later
Great photo hub! Enjoyed the visual 'trip'. I have to plan a visit soon!
WOW!
Wow - I am seriously going to consider this for our next holiday destination. It looks just beautiful. Your photographs are fantastic. Thanks for introducing me to a new place.

hi lovely photos, got one more week off with my bad back, did you ever hear off Brenda Scully,,,,, her middle name is Lorraine, or sometimes trouble, always seem to find it
I love Boracay too; been there once but 3days was not enough. Hope to visit again someday. Thanks for the lovely photos!
I just found this little piece of heaven! What wonderful pictures! Brings me back to a stay I had in Boracay for a week. I didn't want to go home. Great Hub! Mabuhay!
Another reason to love Boracay for its wide range of water activities. Also one of my friends told me that every time he comes on Boracay there is always something new. Like this year he went to Ariel's Point trip and said that it was great discovery for him. So Boracay Island is always in movement and that's what makes it exciting!
Jill, this is a great hub. The photos are wonderful, and evoke many happy memories. I would love to retire to this place, it just has that amazing atmosphere you refer to here. I wish more people knew about it. I have been to many lovely beach resorts, but Boracay beats them all for friendliness and atmosphere.
By the way, have you ever thought of selling your photos to iPhoto or some of these Photo banks who buy quality art and photography. They may pay you good money for such great pictures. The Canon is really doing you justice here. Well done. I will read more of your great hubs! Cheers.
P.s., you have a high SEOMoz rating on this page, according to my toolbar on my pc.
